February 2011
I think my TV might have died today.  I have two months to remedy this situation before baseball season starts.

countingthesplashhits replied to your link:Choosing Up Sides for MLB’s All-Star Game Brandon Belt! Wait…that doesn’t work. I’d probably just be biased and pick Tim Lincecum :). You could still take Joey Votto for 1B after Pujols is off the board. Mauer (and maybe even McCann) will go before Posey, so you can take him at #2 or #3. Just wait a year or two, and then Brandon Belt can be your first...

Choosing Up Sides for MLB’s All-Star Game →
Jonah Keri and Dave Cameron at FanGraphs decidee to choose the 2011 MLB All-Star teams the way the NHL does, with each team captain making picks until both teams have 25 players. Since it’s the very last day of January (tomorrow I can say, “Pitchers and catchers report THIS MONTH,” and then I’ll probably do a happy dance), and I’m starved for anything...

Brian Wilson takes part in How’s It Hangin’, a Minute to Win It challenge that made my Twitter timeline fill with comments like “BRIAN WILSON HAS A HANGING BANANA,” which in and out of context, is hilarious.

Just watched an east coast feed of Brian Wilson’s appearance on the George Lopez show (he comes on about halfway through the show if you haven’t seen it yet). The man is crazy. And endlessly entertaining. Totally worth sitting through George Lopez’s not so funny show to see Wilson and his outfit (the socks were sweet). Or you know, you could wait until it gets put online, but...

Giants pitcher Brian Wilson to debut short film →
Brian Wilson can certainly pitch, but can he pitch ideas for a funny film? The wacky relief pitcher for the San Francisco Giants with the famous black beard has co-written and acted in a series of digital short films. He is set to debut one of them Thursday on TBS’s “Lopez Tonight.” The show begins at 9 p.m. Wilson acted as creative consultant and did some of his own ad-libbing in the comedic...

Keith Law’s Top 100 prospects list is out.  It’s naturally one of those ESPN Insider things, but as always, kind people on the internet have shared the most important part.  (The most important part being anything Giants-related, of course.) Brandon Belt (#17) and Zack Wheeler (#36) both made the top 100 list, which is pretty impressive considering that a couple of the Giants’...

And finally part 2 of A Day in the Life: Tim Lincecum.  Watch Tim play pool and video games (as Cy supervises), make a joke about Bochy’s big head, and drive while singing a bunch of Hall & Oates songs. This means that, yes, all three parts of the show are available online now for those of you who don’t live in the Bay Area or don’t have cable.  (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3.)

A Day in the Life: Tim Lincecum part 1.  It’s the Cribs portion of the show as Tim takes you on a tour of his condo.  Pool table! TV! Video games! Closet! Cy! Try not to keel over from excitement. In case you missed it, part 3 is also online.

Just finished watching A Day in the Life: Tim Lincecum, which is exactly like I expected it to be, kind of like Cribs on MTV, only without all of the rappers and gold teeth and comments about “this is where the magic happens” when they lead the camera into the bedroom.  It was funny to check Twitter as the show aired and see comments about how the show was kind of boring and how Tim...

Did I just use a black Sharpie to cover up the very obvious scuff marks on the toes of my shoes? Yes, yes, I did. Call me inspired by Brian Wilson and his shoes that have too much awesome. Or call me too lazy to buy a new pair of shoes. YOUR CHOICE.

Giants' rotation would be hard to crack →
While I do worry a little bit about the lack of pitching depth in the Giants’ minor league system at the moment, I have to admit that this is a really nice problem to have.  No possible opening in the starting rotation until 2013?  A rotation already filled with five reliable pitchers?  No Todd WeLOLemeyers in the bunch?  Yeah, I can handle that.

Courtesy of Hardball Talk, Russell Martin, of the Suck it, Russell Martins, basically says he hasn’t been trying very hard and he hasn’t been playing well, because he was distracted.  Gosh, I hope New York won’t be totally distracting, too!  Except I totally hope it’s “distracting.”  More importantly, Russell Martin is only 28?  Seriously?
